Treatment Approaches & Clinical Interests

Diana approaches psychological needs from a holistic, trauma-informed psychodynamic perspective. Within this framework, one’s identity, relationships, and life experiences are dynamically shaped by their attachment systems and potential trauma. As a Vietnamese American, Diana is attuned to the impact of relational and sociocultural factors on both mental and physical health. Her exposure to immigrant communities has deepened her sensitivity to marginalized experiences and reinforced her commitment to honoring each person’s unique story. Diana strives to understand her clients’ narratives and support them in developing insight, resilience, self-compassion, and autonomy on their path to healing. She has a special interest in working with families, couples, and Asian American populations.

Education & Experience

Diana obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from California State University, Fullerton with a minor in Child and Adolescent Development. She received an M.A. in Clinical Psychology from Rosemead School of Psychology and is currently a 4th year student in their PsyD program. She has received training in psychotherapy and assessment at elementary schools, high schools, and university counseling centers. Diana has worked with individuals from a wide range of cultural backgrounds and is trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), time-limited dynamic psychotherapy (TLDP), group therapy, and psychodynamic concepts. She also has several years of experience assisting in a medical clinic that treats Vietnamese immigrants and further specializes in opioid and alcohol addictions, which influences her integrated biopsychosocial approach to care. Diana is anticipated to receive further training in community mental health and will participate in a newly launching Asian American mental health speciality clinic within her program.

Faith and Spirituality

Diana’s background in the Vietnamese Christian & Missionary Alliance (C&MA) informs her care for resilient, marginalized communities impacted by historical trauma and shifts in identity formation. She is attuned to experiences of adversity and holds a strong belief for humanity’s potential for goodness, wisdom, and compassion. As such, Diana is a highly curious individual who thrives at the intersection of scientific knowledge and artistry. She brings this spirit to her collaborative treatment approach, helping clients cultivate hope and meaning from their experiences. She enjoys creatively engaging with others in relationship and believes that every human person is created with dignity and worth, regardless of their spiritual background or orientation.
